Bill Kristol denies claims by anonymous McCain aids that Sarah Palin stopped taking advice from the campaign and instead consulted Kristol.
Randy Scheunemen denies claims that he was fired for trashing Palin to the press. So does Mark Salter.
Goldfarb did concede that Scheunemann’s campaign e-mail was cut off, and his blackberry was taken away late Friday. Goldfarb admits that senior McCain aides were mad at Scheunemann, and wanted to fire him, but he insists they stopped short of that, and instead simply turned off his campaign communication.
They didn’t fire him, they just started whispering about him during gymn, didn’t invite him to the slumber party and wouldn’t sit with him at lunch.
Seriously. Who lets Goldfarb talk to the press?

This is a scoop!!! I didn’t know that McCain had aids!!
Why wasn’t this in his medical records?
“Who lets Goldfarb talk to the press?”
I think you know who we’re talking about.
McCain stabbed in the back by the same ilk who tromped him during his run in 2000.
How much change are we going to witness in the Israeli Palestinian conflict when Dennis Ross( for the invasion, talks trash about Iran all of the time) is one of Obama’s main advisers on the middle east and Obama’s first pick Rahm Emmanuel represents the right wing (radical arm in regard to the I/P conflict) of the Democratic party. Rahm supported the invasion of Iraq and has vocally supported Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza and supported Israel’s 2006 attack on Lebanon. He also volunteered in the Israeli occupying forces during the first Iraq war. Is this legal to serve in another country’s military and then serve as a congressman? Seems like a very serious conflict of interest.
When will Obama take on Professor Juan Cole, Professor Norman Finkelstein and Flynt Leverett as advisers on the middle east.
CHANGE? HOOEY…more of the same
“They didn’t fire him, they just started whispering about him during gymn, didn’t invite him to the slumber party and wouldn’t sit with him at lunch.”
Then they started with the wedgies and charlie horses…but it was the “titty twisters” that finally got to Randy.
Said Scheunemen, “I don’t understand why everybody’s always pickin’ on me. Can’t we all just get along?”
McCain’s campaign was run by the 101st Chairborne. Take their Cheetos away!
And I’m fine everybody, thanks for asking. Unemployed, but not unbowed.
We saw something similar in Hillary Clinton’s campaign as the wheels came off it, finger pointing, recriminations, etc. I agree with millerdunwoody disorganization and mistakes in the McCain campaign belong to one person John McCain.
It really was.
That’s the spirit ! Keep your chin up and better things will come your way.
Reminds me of the old 60’s song, “Charley Brown,” which had the refrain,
Democracy is not a spectator sport. If anything, the World is heartened by the level of participation by the American people … you have to tell those you elected how you want them to govern.
ding!
Rahm Emanuel agrees to be Obama’s COS.
Who lets Goldfarb talk to the press? I think we all know who lets Goldfarb talk to the press… I think we all know who we are talking about… we all know who we are talking about…
And so the war within the GOP begins in earnest. Get out your popcorn but don’t get complacent. Anything our side can do to stoke the fires would only improve the spectacle.
Are any of these guys still employed?
And with Obama taking NC it’s really going to be battle because inroads have been made into the south and they won’t like that.
The last three weeks of the McCain – Palin campaign wasn’t a train wreck, it was a series of demolition derby-type BUS WRECKS! And nobody appears to have taken their bus keys from them after Tuesday night, eh….?
Look for voter suppression efforts to go into high gear. Allegations of “irregularities” in early voting and absentee ballots.
A good question there at the end: indeed “why were they giving interviews [to the press] on background in the last week of the campaign?”
Maybe Kristol could spend some time answering his own question, and give us an essay ( five paragraphs minimum: Introduction, body, conclusion). He may learn something.
Neo-cons don’t learn – they teach the masses
But..but..but United States is a center-right country. Really. American political media is letting this claim fly with no wings often thesed days.
But..but..but Sarah Palin was a great pick for GOPer VP slot. Problem was/is she was a terrible pick. As the record leaks out regarding McCain/Palin dysfunction features the GOPers will now put up a variety of narratives in order to reframe and then reframe more. American political media will lap it all up until the truth is nicely submerged by the spin.
Meanwhile Bill Kristol is recast as the voice of truth and reasoned GOPerism to come and suddenly the DEMs own all the manure the GOPers have been dropping these past eight years.
Remember—USA is a center-right country and DEMs are responsible for all Bush/Cheney and GOPer run Congress years of malpractice and failure. It is all the dummy DEMs fault.
This started on November 5th and too much of daily American political media will happily pass this along as being how things are.
Naturally the expectation is by 2010 GOPers return in glory all rebooted and ready for power again being the DEMs have failed and the GOPers never fail because they are wrong or terrible at governance. They fail because center-right Americans elect DEMs who then must move to right or be voted out next election for failing to—what?—wait—this makes no sense.
As for Israel/Palestine conflict I will give Obama/Biden WH six months into 2009 before first grade is given. I expect little to change from current policy positions. Too bad Obama has been sucked in by the rabid Zionists. Best thing that could happen now is Palestinians demand to become part of Israel. Then Israel can have all of West Bank. Now Zionists are afraid of this outcome and so are digging up old Saudi Palestine idea for Israeli/Palestine divide. I hope Palestinians demand to become part of Israel. Israel wants West Bank so damn bad. OK–take the whole of it then.
The water. The land. The people who live there. All becoming part of Israel. Watch the Zionists run from this idea straight back to old Saudi plan. Who are the terrorists again? Barack–wake up. Stop the stupidity.
break’s over, kids. what’s next? (as Jed likes to say)
Well it’s more than a little suggestive that most of the accusations that Palin was mistreated by her “handlers”…that it was the “staff” that bought all that clothing (because it was on their credit cards), etc. was passede first through the Evening Standard! Who is the editor of Evening Standard?
Bill Kristol!
Who pressured McCain to take on Palin (rather than Joe Lie) as VP…
Bill Kristol!
Here’s the thing that will be different with Obama (and god help us if it isnt’)
Obama is an orator, a teacher, if we are lucky (and i don’t think he can resist the educable moment) he will educate the populace every time he steps to the podium. To think . He will give us stuff to chew on, information, his speeches will be teaching moments, as they say. THAT is what will change the citizenry from pablum swilling emptyheads to thinking voters. So good luck in 2010 GOP, Yer gonna need it.
I particularly like Kristol’s comment that “McCain still had a chance to win [two weeks before election day].”
Pass that joint please, Billy.
