IIRC Grant Park in Chicago was the scene of some of the violent clashes at the ‘68 Democratic convention between protesters and the Chicago police. Maybe schadenfreude isn’t the right word, but perhaps this huge peaceful gathering in Grant Park is some sort of a cleansing for the Democratic party?
