This is the line at 10:00 a.m. to my polling station in New York City. It looked like this at 6:30 this a.m., as well, when I cast my ballot.
Mind you, the line bends around the corner behind me, and goes halfway down the block to the polls on 13th St. On the other end, it hooks around and flows down 12th Street.
I’ve been voting for 28 years, and have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to vote. Not anymore!
Now go out there and VOTE!

About FDL Action
Five precincts in the Mission district have run out of ballots already, and other precincts report ballot boxes too full to accept any more ballots.
In L.A. (Pico/Fairfax), it took us about two hours to get through the “green” line (there were four lines and the green was the slowest).
Latest results from where I live in SW Washington state:
We have mail-in voting, so ballots that are postmarked by today will be counted. But as of noon PT according to Clark County elections office, here is what’s happening:
total ballots mailed: 215,741
total ballots received: 145,082
So there’s still 70,659 up in the air. Hopefully many are in the mail. Ballots can also be dropped off today by 8pm at polling places as well.
It’s absurd that anyone should be forced to wait in a line like this to vote. It’s just not reasonable.
Rachel Maddow has been making that point the last few days.
It’s a de facto poll tax–only those with the means and leisure to take that kind of time get to vote.
It’s a disgrace, really.
