… “inkstained blogging minxes eat all the food, drink all the booze, fornicate in the shrubbery and don’t tip the valets. Um, those are lies — I have a dainty appetite, don’t drink and do tip the valets — really well, too!”

Hmm… then we’ll be seeing you in the shrubbery? With a valet?

LOL

There are tons of “NO ON 8″ signs around Los Angeles proper and I have a bumper sticker, but haven’t seen too many in the valley. You can pick up yard signs and bumper stickers at the West Hollywood Democratic Club (Santa Monica / Crescent Heights) as well as the Gay & Lesbian Center in Hollywood.

It would actually be great for someone like your son to post them around the valley if you haven’t seen many signs. (I’ve only seen one “yes” sign — I guess people don’t want to advertise their bigotry)

Plenty of “NO ON 8″ signs in my neighborhood - West Hollywood. And you can pick them up at the local Democratic office at the corner of Santa Monica and Crescent Heights if you’re passing by.

Lisa;

Interesting and informative post.

Perusing your personal disclaimers, regarding the rumored ‘behaviors’ of the ‘press’, and your actual deportment (and obvious dedication to actual reportage) one notes a single ‘omission’ …

Are we to make anything of this ‘landscaping’ exception?

Perhaps some further clarification is in order.

Or perhaps not. Mystery and intrigue always add spice … except in ‘Murkan politics where they merely lead to mean suspician and tawdy behaviors, otherwise known as ‘business as usual’ …

Anyhow, good to see you on the masthead.

FYI, George Takei says they invited Shatner, but he never RSVP’ed (and he cleverly uses the interest from reporters as an opportunity to publicize No on 8!)

Oh, that’s a typo. I said Yes on 8 twice. The second one should be No on 8 people see is as a basic human right.
Thanks Dakine.
(I hope you don’t think I’m stupid.)

Teddy,

I added to my comment on my Oxdown diary to clarify that I thought today’s numbers on Prop 8 at fivethirtyeight.com were good news in that it looked like the movement toward passage was stopping or even reversing. I certainly didn’t mean to suggest that we should be content with where things stand.

Yes on 8 folks see it as such a basic Human Rights issue, they don’t get so out there about it.

Actually, for the “Yes On 8″ folks, it’s a denial of basic human rights issue for that’s what they are trying to do.

My 21 one year old son is following this one even more closely than I am…we live in the Valley, just north of LA (and Hollyweird).
I share everything I read here and he shares stuff he’s reading on line. We’ve both noticed a “total absence” of No On 8 signs or bumperstickers. Oh, and btw, we do get to drive around other parts of this metropolis, Culver City, Hollywood.
I’m wondering, maybe someone here knows, has the No. On 8 campaign focused their money on tv ads?
My prodigal son thinks it’s because the Yes On 8 people somehow need to spell out their position, on their car or home. Yes on 8 folks see it as such a basic Human Rights issue, they don’t get so out there about it.
Your thoughts on this, anyone?
