In his first TV interview after picking his running mate, John McCain famously described Sarah Palin as his "partner and soulmate," but now at least one interviewer is picking up a less friendly vibe from the Republican ticket. Sam Stein reports:
Straight off a joint interview with John McCain and Sarah Palin, NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd appeared shocked at what he described as a complete lack of cohesion, chemistry, and (he hinted) trust between the two heads of the Republican ticket.
"There was a tenseness," Todd told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. "I couldn’t see chemistry between John McCain and Sarah Palin. I felt as if we grabbed two people and said ‘here, sit next to each other, we are going to conduct an interview.’ They are not comfortable with each other yet." [HuffPo]
Todd wonders whether the two candidates have started blaming each other for the sorry state of their campaign.
Let the recriminations begin!

True, I just watched part of the interview. Despite that they were s**king each other’s d**ks,there was no love there. It has to drive McCain nuts that Obama is getting so many favorable endorsements (newspapers and otherwise) because of Sarah Palin.
Where did the love go?
Ya know, I just watched the segment and I think McCain is tense period. And Palin hates meeting the press, so she’s tense. I couldn’t tell if they were tense with each other…
BTW, Al “I’m in charge” Haig? Crazies for McCain.
