I did not see that, Lindsay. Thank you for pointing that out. Not only id I miss it, but this is the first I’ve heard about it.

Earlier this year I wrote about the danger of being a labor activist in Colombia. It’s the most dangerous country on the planet for labor activists, and one of the most dangerous places on the planet among all classes of people. Being Latino it always bothers me how many Americans think the news ends at the border with Mexico. Almost everyone I ever talk to knows only two things about Colombia: coffee and cocaine come from there.

I don’t know exactly what that look on McCain’s face signified, but I didn’t like it. It was disrespectful to the union workers of Columbia and to those in this country that are appalled by the murders, and respect the unionists who keep on working in conditions where colleagues are murdered. Well good for Obama for bringing that up about the free trade agreement.

His contempt for workers is the same contempt every capitalist has.
If a worker lives long enough to retire then that worker hasn’t really worked hard enough. They expect us all to work until we drop dead and by making health care less available and more expensive and not enforcing workplace safety compliance through OSHA they have been pretty successful.
As far as they’re concerned no one should retire comfortably except them.
