(I’ll be on the Rachel Maddow radio show at 6:34 ET/3:34 PT today talking about the Accountability Now 2010 Primary Project. You can listen live here – jh)
They don’t even seem like they’re preparing these poor bastards before they throw them on TV any more. It’s like chum to sharks.
McCain campaign spokesman Ben Porritt is completely flummoxed today when David Shuster asks him about the head of McCain’s transition team, William Timmons, who lobbied for Sadaam Hussein. Porritt just waffles and tries to stall until a good answer comes to him, but that never happens so he makes the rather outrageous claim they’ve had "no associations with any lobbyists on our campaign."
Exqueeze me? Baking powder?
Shuster manages not to guffaw and asks him if he’s ever heard of Charlie Black.
It’s just getting sad.

Thanks Jane.

The McCain campaign has sunk to the level that the only qualification for its spokespersons is the willingness to lie.
Lisa’s thread downstream is uplifting!
I, unlike David Shuster, did guffaw.
McCain deserves for it to get even sadder.
You mean it’s wearing a bra with underwires?
Jane, please bring up the fact that McCain’s right-hand man Mark Buse worked as a lobbyist for Freddie Mac as I noted in this article — which also deals with the fact that he’s OPENLY GAY. Ask Rachel what she thinks about that.
Yea, that’s what it lifted.
you’d think that with advancements in science, they would have created someting to replace the dreaded underwire
Another top Republic is gay? Why, it’s beginning to look like their anti-gay rhetoric is just to get votes.
Do they set the metal detectors off at airports? I wouldn’t know; I don’t wear bras, with or without.
I reclaim my time, just answer the damn question, you hack.
Uh…
…
Nemmind. Not gonna go there.
What I’m waiting to hear a questioner say is: I’ll note for the record that you didn’t answer the question.
no but they do have a nasty habit (depending on quality) of poking you
Ahhh, silk and garters. Memories of a young boy in the 1950’s.
thanks.
yeah. I agree w/ Badwater @ 5. I hope it keeps getting sadder. Nothing personal against McCain. I mean, he’s a scumbag an’ all. But I jusy wanna see the Dems crush, absolutely crush whoever they’re running against. Top to bottom. President to dog catcher.
And hey, there are still a few weeks left. Is palin’s attitude “What do i have to lose if i make a complete asshole outta myself? It’ll just show how non-elite I am and the base loves that? geography? only weenies know that.” ? Map please.

Didn’t notice.
I find it kind of nice that McSame’s spokepersons are chosen for their advanced senility.
Kinda like Old Home week.
Jane up.
Not wanting to whore, well, truth be told I am.
I just posted my first diary.
Anybody feeling sad, you can read my thing at Oxdown.
For a minute, I almost felt sorry for the kid. Then I realized he was almost a full grown Republican like my current (for this moment) greatest source of repulsion, Heather Wilson.
Amazing stuff…these folks have such a future with at the Rove College of Lying Blindly that’s it’s almost scary… I guess the NeoNuts have finally found out what they want to do with the bubba liberry (intentional) in Dallas…
Ari say “If the Democrats can’t win this year they may as well forget about it”.
Listening live!
Me too!
You’re doing great Jane.
Arei Fleischer (hi-def) is just wrong
Yea, but not about that.
((demi)) glad you and yours are okay.
hmm a sad diary?
We just hired Joe ????
I didn’t catch Joe’s last name.
Way to go, Jane! You
wereare great! An excellent example of not only more Dems but better Dems = Donna! I feel Rachel probably knows all about the example, but let you run with the interview — kudos to both of you!
I meant he should stay away from hi def tv. As an aside, he is just wrong on everything
Jane said “We just hired Joe ?????”
I don’t think MSNBC is hi-def. Not to be negative
Actually great interview with Rachel. She is asking Jane sone great questions and Jane is really explaining what they are trying to do
Oh, I was watching a tivo of when he was on CNN (sorry I didn’t make that clear) He is on MSNBC? eeek!
I’ve never listened to Maddow on radio.
Jane: “told by the geniuses in the Democratic party”
Seconded.
No, hopefully not, dearheart.
One of MSNBC’s McCain campaign surrogates is David Gregory.
They are proly all hangin in the same AO.
If no one has said it yet, The Insane McCain Campaign that hurts my brain:
A noun, a verb, Bill Ayers (or ACORN).
I’m off to read it
With numbers like these what is Bush doing in Michigan today, visiting our Sec of State or Atny General, ACORN or just stirring up a rats nest?
…
The poll also showed that Obama was preferred in the state by female voters, 60 percent to 32 percent; male voters, 48 percent to 44 percent; white voters, 48 percent to 43 percent; and independent voters, 52 percent to 35 percent. He also was leading among white Catholics.
After the second presidential debate, 60 percent of those polled had a favorable opinion of Obama, while 30 percent had an unfavorable opinion and 8 percent said they hadn’t heard enough about him.
…
Three-fourths of Michigan voters thought Democratic Delaware Sen. Joe Biden is qualified to be vice president, while only 41 percent thought the same of Republican Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, according to the poll.

Lady Jane and Rachel were great. I can only hope that some Dem incumbents and wannabes were listening.
But every Sunday they go to the church of Babbling Bullshit.
Well, people here will be happy. Stupid fuck Jesse Jackson doing what he can to torpedo Obama.
Wonderful job, Jane. Rachel is one great host.
explaining what
theywe are trying to doSlight edit *g*
Jealousy is so awful and so obvious.
Wow, Jane — excellent in pointing out excellent (and soon to be even more powerful) resources – Joe Sudbay, Jane, the Orange Place (and Rachel — congrats on the new show, and bringing out the intelligent voices from all corners). Although there are certainly costs for Left Blogistan (I think the term gets a copyright shout out to Sadly! No), the playing field sure is leveled when smart people do smart things, as the commercial networks (exception = MSNBC lately) continue to lose credibility (and ratings) as they continue to carry the corporate dis-information campaign …
… This will be an interesting time to tell to our grandkids.
Again, congrats Jane — nice work!
He’s on the Mc Cain payroll.
Do candidates spouses have to get security clearances.

Actually what Jackson said was that our Middle East policy is to Israel-centric, a not very controversial position around here. His problem was that he used the word “Zionist” which curiously in this country has a pejorative meaning while in Israel it doesn’t.
No, but there access to lot’s of stuff would be limited.
Like I said, it’ll make people here happy.
What is it with that dude? Thought participating in the Poor People’s March would be a fun thing to do on my honeymoon. Wife thought so as well until the heat stormed up the DOJ building steps after us… Only thing that kept us from getting arrested was my military ID.
Pawenty said that Obama shouldn’t be elected because Democrats will control everything. Nice vote of confidence for your Congressional candidates there, Tim.
If you missed the show don’t be sad, we’ve got the audio coming right up.
So proud of our Jane!
Yep, Joe is awesome. He’s already doing great things.
I don’t remember Pawlenty saying that when the Republicans controlled the White House, both houses of Congress, and the Supreme Court. Hypocrisy, anyone?
(bows) Konnichiwa, Lady Jane
To steal a line from the late, great Jackie Gleason: “Baby, you’re the greatest!”
The point is that it is like the Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers stories a manufactured controversy.
OT This picture is fun to play with (explore w/ cursor)

I had fun with that – I especially liked the dinos.
WONDERFUL. I was a puddle while reading it. Why does it take times such as those to make us stop and assess what is truly important?
Did you open the door (click on handle)
Don’t send a Ben to do a Tucker’s job.
*sigh* I read about that earlier. He can’t just accept that he is irrevelent
Pawlenty wants a divided gov just like we have had the last two years. Last I checked it’s not working out so great.
of course *g* thanks
Yep. It really is fun.
Governor Patterson on w/ Tweety – Peoples 401K has become 201K
That’s one tuff nut to accept. Oh, well. We make our beds…
What did the Major say in full metal “Son, you better get your head and your ass wired together”.
What dinos? The only thing close to dinos is the oil rigs in the backyard.?
One wanders by the window every now and then.
thanks I am so easily amused.
I’ve looked for the dinos, couldn’t find them.
Little blurb at the bottom says updated daily until 4 Nov. Damn, just what I need, something else to check on every day. *g*
LOL, me too. Going back to wait for a dino.
Damn, ask and ye shall receive. Nice lookin’ raptor, that one.
I suppose if it has always been about being the center of attention instead of your cause, it wuld be difficult to acceppt.
Actually, he was a quarterback at Illinois, not a center.
LOL yes, that was funny. They really pack a lot of satire in one screen!
