Couric Interviews Palin, Part…Oh, I Forget

By: Jane Hamsher Wednesday October 1, 2008 8:12 pm

Watch Sarah gamely try to bluff her way through Roe v. Wade if you can.  I can only get about 20 seconds in, but I don’t slow down to stare at traffic accidents, either.

Sarah Blows as a Flautist

By: Lisa Derrick Wednesday October 1, 2008 4:23 pm

"This one time. At band camp" is one time too many.    This Sarah Palin video is NSFW, not for the visuals, but for the excruciatingly painful, shrill trills and the (thankfully) overwhelming orchestral accompaniment noise.  Still is a bit more tasteful than the bathing suit video. "Talent" is too kind. But wow–dig that groovy 1980s [...]

Sandra Bernhard’s Rape Remarks Cost her Gig at Women’s Shelter

By: Lisa Derrick Wednesday October 1, 2008 2:53 pm

Suggesting miscegenist rape for Sarah Palin didn’t turn out too well for Sandra Bernhard. Granted, the statement was meant more like Jonathan Swift’s A Modest Proposal than Elridge Cleaver’s essay in Soul on Ice. In a statement on her Website, Bernhard said the gang rape comment was part of a larger piece from her show: [...]

By: Lisa Derrick Wednesday October 1, 2008 12:42 pm

Katie Couric’s interviews with Sarah Palin made a feeble boost in CBS’s ratings this week, gaining the CBS Evening News only about 10 percent in audience from the previous week. The newscast averaged just under 6 million viewers for the week, up from 5.44 million. Worse, the ratings were actually down from the same week [...]

By: Jane Hamsher Wednesday October 1, 2008 11:15 am

Old Sour Milk McCain has had trouble of late keeping his famous temper in check when people question his judgment in selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate.  It’s getting worse: Meeting Tuesday with the editorial board of The Des Moines Register, McCain was asked why he picked the Alaska governor, someone "who doesn’t have [...]

By: Jane Hamsher Wednesday October 1, 2008 8:16 am

Its success ($600,000 raised since its release) should be a signal to the often faint-of-heart environmental outfits:  time to take the gloves off.
