It would be so interesting if McCain had to drop out because of health problems and Palin had to drop out because of the Alaska investigation. What then?

My speculation is that McCain will drop out because of health reasons, Palin will be “elevated” to the Pres spot, and Mr. Whisper-in-his-Ear himself, Joe Lieberman, will jump on board as VP nominee.

It would take dynamite to pry Palin’s hands from the ticket.

The International Monetary Fund, in a World Economic Outlook released Wednesday, slashed growth projections for the global economy and predicted the United States — the epicenter of the financial meltdown — will continue to lose traction.

“The world economy is now entering a major downturn in the face of the most dangerous shock in mature financial markets since the 1930s,” the IMF said in its report.
