Ken Silverstein of Harper’s reports:
I’ve been told by two sources that Kazeminy has in the past covered the bills for Coleman’s lavish clothing purchases at Nieman Marcus in Minneapolis. The sources were not certain of the dates of the purchases; if they were made before Coleman joined the Senate in 2003, he obviously would not be required to report it under senate rules. But having a private businessman pay for your clothing is never a good idea if you’re a public official (Coleman was mayor of St. Paul from 1994 to 2002).
Coleman’s spokesman tried to dodge Silverstein’s direct question: Did Kazeminy buy clothes for Coleman from Nieman Marcus?
Kazeminy declined to comment.
I’ll be hosting an upcoming FDL book salon on Ken Silverstein’s new book, Turkmeniscam. Get your copy today. I’m really excited about this event because Ken’s a journalistic hero of mine. He set the standard for stalking lobbyists.

Mein Gott, he sounds like a friggin’ kept man.
And Dugg!
He does sound like a kept man, doesn’t he? He doesn’t pay his own rent, he doesn’t pay for his own airfares. Senators are the new 7-diamond escorts.
You mean the Coleman’s aren’t independently wealthy from the Blo & Go?!!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/…..03942.html
His wife (who lives in Los Angeles) invented this perfectly named contraption.
Coleman should live it up while he can – he’ll be stuck with a Senate Pension by the end of the year, his negative ads are backfiring big time, and he tanked the debate Sunday night. http://obamesque.wordpress.com…..und-state/
mmm, we’re back to the ‘Sarah Palin didn’t put the travel reimbursements on her taxes’ stuff here – did Norm put these gifts on his tax return. The IRS would see it as ‘imputed income’.
I’m sure that’s how Cindy sees her little man John.
… and he was your mayor for eight years. Oh, the shame of it all.
707!
Just how much and what kind of clothes are we talking about? Does every gift need to be reported for Senate rules or only those above a certain cash amount?
You know, the imperial goddess of gold is not quite the look I would be going for with the economy tanking. Stacy and Clinton need to pull Cindy aside for a dress for election success intervention.
thanks for that link! I hope you will update us when you get debate video. please and thank you!
Why do men buy nonfamily members clothes? A sweater at Christmas sure but outside of that only women we are involved with or want something from, is Norm some guy’s woman?
I thought Coleman came from Big Bucks. Am I mistaken?
Cindy would never understand.
Only those that involve thong underwear.
I’m not certain but I believe the maximum gift amount is along the lines of $50 so unless this guy is buying Coleman’s underwear and socks, yeah it should be reported.
Norm in a thong Brrr! Brain Bleach Stat!
Does Norm hang around with Larry Craig?
I don’t think he’s big bucks. Howie Klein has mentioned a few times how he and Norm served as co-class leaders at a New York public school. And I think Howie has also stated that Norm was an a** then as well.
Thanks any fashionistas here who can look at pictures of Norm and say that’s a Nieman Marcus jacket!
Norm was late to the Airport to pick up Craig one time and Craig won’t let him hear the end of it:)
That has to be the part of the story they’re not telling.
I’m really disappointed that the blo and go website appears to have gone offline.
No, thank google, here it is:

It’s up to $29.99, but Laurie Coleman is still on the front page. They don’t mention her famous husband.
Back in the day, I went to school with Norm Coleman. And, even then, he had a taste for fancy threads and was one of the biggest phonies I ever met.
So Norm was, and remains, a dandy.
Yes, he was a dandy. I used to refer to him as a hot comb hippie.
He wore his hair long, but unlike the rest of us, his was styled and
every hair was in place.
Back then, when he wasn’t busy kissing ass, he postured as a liberal.
Anything else you can tell us about him?
DOW closes down 500 points.
McBush’s only advantage has been with older voters.. Those voters now have to decide whether to vote their racial fears or their economic fears…
I live in MN and I soooo want Coleman to back to his home — which is NOT Minnesota. He came to Minnesota, became a democrat and ran the City of St. Paul like a Republican. Then he switched and ran as republican and won.
He does not live with his wife, he flys on airplanes donated to him for travel, he lives in a condo with much lower rent than ‘normal’ people in D.C., — he is the worst of the worst and a Bush wannabe.
Please let him go down in flames. Please, let Frankin get the job done, and I can only hope that Al grows with his job in D.C. He is a good man at heart, but I never find his jokes remotely funny.
Norm, you ignorant slut!
Then who does Norm live with, is he really a kept man rather than bribed one?
