Sarah Palin was in Southern California, and wingnut actor, anti-father figure and notorious Campaign Chest Supporter Jon Voight was working the crowd of 15,000 gathered outside the Home Depot Center in Carson, a suburb about half an hour south of Los Angeles this morning. After all, his movie, the conservative yuk fest An American Carol opened Friday. And the reviews were not good.![]()
Voight mingled with the crowd, hugging well wishers and urging people to vote for McCain. And according to the Long Beach Press Telegram, he’s big fan:
I think she would be a great commander in chief. I think she would be great.
Yup, he’s crazy. Palin herself seemed a little befuddled herself, saying to the audience, "All of us who consider ourselves progressive yet at the same time we can be conservative…" then later made reference to to "Reagan Democrats," and cheered that if the Republicans can take California they’ll win the election. You betcha.
She did also some product placement endorsing a coffee company while sharing:
"Somethin’ sorta providential…I was readin’ on my Starbucks mocha cup, okay? The quote of the day? You’ll never believe what the quote was. It was Madeline Albright, the former Secretary of State and UN Ambassador, and Madeline has to say as her quote of the day for Starbucks, now she said it and I didn’t, she said, "There’s a place in hell reserved for women who don’t support other women."
Wow, so Sarah, does that mean you crossed party lines and voted for Hillary in primary? Or are you going to H-E-double toothpicks for not supporting other women? I betcha that place has really long lines in the ladies’ restroom and when ya get to stall, dontcha know it, there’s no toilet paper. Oh and Albright used the verb "help" not "support."
After whoops from the crowd, she continued. "Thank you so much for receiving that well. California, let’s see what a comment like I just made, how that is turned into whatever it’ll be turned into tomorrow in the newspaper."

It’s remarkable that someone who has been treated with unbelievable kid gloves can play the victim to such absurd levels. They’ve invested 30 years in creating this false “LIBRUL media” narrative, so they’re gonna milk it for all it’s worth now I guess. Seems to be all they have left.
Yes, it’s just you Sayrah. Barack never has things taken out of context. Just you, you poor thang.
Oh, and she calls herself “progressive” and admits to drinking at Starbucks (latte anyone?)?!?! Bob Barr just gained another percent or two. Wingnuts ain’t gonna stand for that kinda crazy talk.
Madeleine Albright interviewed by iKnow Politics in February 2007-
Substituting “support” for “help” pretty much sums up her authoritarian belief system.
Jon Voight the actor, or John Voight the periodontist?
It’s interesting how Palin inverted the arrow of responsibility. Albright says that it’s the leader who has the responsibility “to help” those less privileged…Palin makes it the responsibility “to support” someone seeking power.
Sarah…”when you point you have three fingers pointin’ back atcha!”
[Surprised that Tina Fey didn’t use that line last night}.
Not a latte…she was drinkin a Starbucks “Mocha”…and I think that she knew that the Albright quote she had “altered” since she said “wait’ll you see how that turns out here in California newspapers”. IOW Palin knew that someone would fact-check the quote.
