So I guess we should assume that when Sarah Palin meets V.P. Cheney the first question will be “Can I call ya Dick”?

I see our side falling for the “she did fine” bullshit. I see everyone kinda walking away from this saying she didnt hurt herself or McCain…even here on FDL and I have to ask…WTF? We should be pounding the message that if this is what American politics has come to…a respected, thoughtful man clearly ready for whatever role he might have to take in VP position having to stand across from this pretty, air headed stand up doll with a string just repeating ridiculous lies and winking at the audience…well then America has lost. This is the message people…this woman has no business being on stage with Biden…none!

I believe the debate clearly shows that her selection was meant to do one thing…take away the buzz from Obama’s speech. Every decision the McCain campaign makes is about controlling the focus of the press. If Obama’s speech and the dem convention had not been so successful I dont think we ever would have heard of this woman…ever. They made the decision figuring they would worry about the consequences later. Their first priority was to take the focus off Obama’s speech and they certainly succeeded. I have thought that from the beginning of this awful Palin scam.

Biden so out classed her that any implication that she did fine or ok or didnt hurt herself plays right into the republicans hands. She even stated up front that she was not there to answer questions and yet the right now the popular media message seems to be she did alright. That people is waaay fucked up and we should refuse to go along and start pounding the real and clear message…this woman has no skills, no knowledge and absolutely no business being considered as a VP. The fact that McCain chose her is a slap in the face to all AMericans whome he obviously considers to stupid to see this. Her pathetic debate act makes this perfectly clear we should not relent with that message.

Actually the had a male/female separation in the undecided bar average that was responding to the debate comments. That “Joe Sixpack” line went way down amongst men when she said it.

And while men originally were evaluating her responses much higher than women…by the end of the debate they were rating her much lower.I suspect that the “winky” flirtations were immediately found offensive by women, but men started to find her a bit over-the-top as it kept happening. As it went on she became increasing less attractive to men.

Not much mention in the blogosphere of Palins pledge of allegiance to Israel as she repeated Joe Lieberman and other warmongers endlessly repeated and unsubstantiated claims that Ahmadinejad said “Israel should be wiped off the map” hogwash.

Professor Juan Cole and others have debunked these claims
http://www.juancole.com/2007/0.....mitic.html

“As most of my readers know, Ahmadinejad did not use that phrase in Persian. He quoted an old saying of Ayatollah Khomeini calling for ‘this occupation regime over Jerusalem” to “vanish from the page of time.’ Calling for a regime to vanish is not the same as calling for people to be killed. Ahmadinejad has not to my knowledge called for anyone to be killed. (Wampum has more; as does the American Street)”.

How many times are we going to hear this debunked claim repeated? Over the last three years I have heard Lieberman endlessly repeat this along with McCain, Ledeen, Bill Kristol, Cheney, Terri Gross, and many others repeat this false quote. Will we ever hear any media person challenge this endlessly repeated false claim?

Why are people in the MSM claiming that she saved herself last night?

Because she didn’t stammer, stutter, or talk with a speech impediment. And because her head didn’t explode onscreen!

It has bothered me the constant handing around of the baby - wouldn’t it be easier to put him in a Snuggli or a sling - you would think that SuperMom from Alaska would know that!

Why are people in the MSM claiming that she saved herself last night? Not answering at least four critical questions, bankruptcy, deregulation, bailout, Achilles heel question. “Talabani” “Oh there you go again Joe” Wink Wink, Wink. “May I call you Joe”

I hope Tina Fey works all these issues into SNL this Saturday. Maybe they could have Hillary Clinton using those same low ball techniques to demonstrate the contrast.

I’m sorry - I don’t mean to unload but I am APPALLED at the way Sarah Palin uses her special needs’ baby as a campaign prop. Doesn’t that child ever get to sleep? Seriously that baby is passed around at these public events like snuff at a wake! As a further insult she presents herself as an advocate for special needs - when in reality, as Governor of Alaska she cut funding for the Special Olympics. As a special needs’ parent myself I notice these inconsistencies and again sorry to unload!
