MCCAIN: I just want to make a comment about the obvious issue and that is the failure of Congress to act yesterday. Its just not acceptable. […] This is just a not acceptable situation. I’m not saying this is the perfect answer. If I were dictator, which I always aspire to be, I would write it a little bit differently.

country first?…
Quick, tie this comment in an Internet ad to the one where W talks about how governing would be easier for a dictator, if he was the dictator.
WTF?!?!
Worse than Shrub. Freakin nutcase.
Notice that little sigh and fake concern when talking about people getting car loans and small biz lines of credit? How phony can someone be. Yeesh.
hahahaha
Stick a fork in him, he’s done. This is the absolute end of his candidacy.
(No violence intended to forks, of course)
Reminds my of the Boomtown Rats song ”I Never Loved Eva Braun”
I never heard all the screams (oh no?)
I never saw the blood and dirt and gore (oh yeah?)
That wasn’t part of the dream, (yes, we see)
Of maps and generals and uniforms.
I’d always like the big parade,
I always wanted to be adored…
“Amerika, Uber Alles!”
In this same interview with the Des Moines Register they asked him how he, having always been on government health insurance, could relate to people who were struggling to find affordable healthcare…said
“Well I’m not an astronaut, and I understand space.”
And…realizing that this was a “spacey comment”…said…
“Well, I was out of government service for a few years before I ran for Congress”
[Fact: He was still covered by Veterans health benefits, however]
And then he came up with a blathering statement about how he really believed that government should not be involved in “everything in our lives” and that private businesses do a much better job.
Ahem…if so, John, why don’t you advocate putting Veterans on the private health care system, and why not currently enlisted service-members to boot. After all, nothing runs better than PRIVATE enterprise. Also, John, wouldn’t that mean Kennedy was WRONG to support a Space Program to put men into space and on the moon…that this should have been done by private firms?
This is the very issue…idealogues like McCain can’t see that many things are NOT best managed or operated by private interests. When QUALITY, AFFORDABILITY, and UNIVERSALITY are the objectives…privatisation is deficient. Note, for example, that McCain isn’t talking about sending the unemployed workers to PRIVATE Schools to get retrained. Rather he wants Community Colleges to teach them. Why? It’s cheaper…vastly cheaper.
