Obama’s camp made a very diplomatic comment about Palin re: the debate, and for the life of me I can’t find it..shoot. It was in one of the many news reports today and I got distracted by all the commentary from later articles I couldn’t find it. Drat–foiled again by shiny newsworthy object!

It’s not the consequences, it’s the look. Since I was not traveling at 65mph, it was a faceoff (don’t know what happened to his blood pressure, but mine has probably never shot higher), we both retreated, him into the woods, and then I continued my hike.

I thought “moose in the headlights” was better, cause moose, like deer, is one syllable. Also, I once rounded a bend in the trail in Baxter State Park in Maine, to be eyeball to eyeball with a moose, so I have personally experienced the look.

I agree on the first part, but nobody throws a zinger like Dave, so if he wants it to be caribou, I’ll take it.

As for the second part, I’m not a moose expert, but my understanding is that they don’t so much “freeze” in the headlights; they just ignore them. And the cars that are attached to them. Even in the daytime. And it usually doesn’t end well for either the car or the moose.

Tina Fey is too professional. Palin has that (je ne sais quois) fresh faced look. Fey is a good substitute, but can’t match the real thing.
