John McCain suspended his campaign so he could come back and solve the financial crisis. Now that the bailout bill has gone down in flames, is he going to take responsibility for it?
Apparently not.
McCain: “Now Is Not The Time For Blame, But I Blame Obama”By: Jane Hamsher Monday September 29, 2008 3:14 pm |

Yeah, Jane, wasn’t that just perfect!
Course not. That would be too much “Straight Talk”!
Un. Real.
No excuses for McCain.
In retrospect, this all turns out to have been another one of his “roll the dice” moments:
He knew the bailout was opposed in his party, and he ran the play that he would rally the Republicans in favor of the bill, expecting that they wouldn’t want to take the chance of torpdeoing his campaign.
He was expecting that he could play the political angles and that he did not have a downside.
Paging Sarah Palin…..
Paging David Letterman…..
Pagin Maureen Dowd……
Hey whats new John NEVER takes the Blame, but if the bill had passed boy would he be singing a different song about now. He would be singing all about how he had whipped the rethuglians into line so they could pass Big $$$$ BAIL out for Wall Street. And that Democrats had to go along for the good of the nation!!
It’s too much to expect McCain to accept responsibility. First of all, he’s a Republic. They rarely do such things. Secondly, he has the invisible hand of Rove guiding him. That means attacking only. Solutions are not an option.
Wasn’t that in a movie: Blaming means never having to say you’re sorry.
Liar.
The American people see through his stunts, and even Villager media call him on them.
The Straight Talk Express has derailed into a ditch for all to see.
Thanks Jane.
digg
You know, normally when I’m watching someone dig an ever deeper hole for them self, I like to say Step Away From The Shovel, Bub.
But, in this case, I’m keeping my mouth shut.
Buy those RVs to live in soon, folks, the illuminati will be taking your houses.
An interesting fact…
Among 38 incumbent congressmen in races rated as “toss-up” or “lean” by Swing State Project, just 8 voted for the bailout as opposed to 30 against: a batting average of .211.
By comparison, the vote among congressmen who don’t have as much to worry about was essentially even: 197 for, 198 against.
Dam I would rent this guy a backhoe so he could get to the bottom quicker!!
Somehow, this seems like it could be real
McCain/Palin…a Jay Ward Cartoon
i blame mccain and obama and the congressional leadership of both parties.
chris floyd has been writing up a storm. from his latest:
I can’t wait for KO tonight. Should be a good show.
The Ministry of Paulson yells “Fire!” in a crowded theater to create a stampede.
Thi is a very good time to place blame, while we can.
Paulson should be fired, then tried, and then imprisoned.
That, or we could probably find a few (ha!) out of work folks to help out.
Number of members of the House of Representatives from the state of Arizona who voted for the bill:
ZERO.
Blame? Blame? McCain couldn’t get his fellow Arizonans to come out for the bill?!
Number of the members of the House of Representatives from the state of Texas who voted for the bill: three. Heckuva Job, Bushie. Gotta do more than make early morning statements.
Source: Jonathan Martin, Politico.
oops. from the time I first saw the post (title, 3) to now (title 4) something musta changed. But still.
Actually, I blame this on shrub. If he was a human being, he’d immediately resign. His total failure on the bailout is on a scale sufficient to bring down a government in any parliamentary system.
good. i’m glad the bill failed. it was a crappy bill that the dems should never have put forward.
more from chris floyd:
i can’t take any pleasure in mccain looking like the idiot he is when he has so much company from congress and the country is in need of read leadership.
Sorry to be repeating myself…

BUT, I just saw Fox News and they have a “HOW DID YOUR CONGRESSMAN VOTE?” line up. Looks like the call from Rove was make your Congressman look good on this one!! Dunk shot!! Vote “NO!” and we’ll go with you!!!
What a bunch of boys! Let the market go to Hell so we catch a few votes.
You have to hate the GOP!!
Heel a few…. I could go the corner of 5th and El Camino and get a bus load of them looking for work, any kind of work!
I think John McCain should suspend his campaign again. Honestly, America would benefit.
Blub, I agree. It’s Bush’s policies, those who worshiped this man and who kept his policies alive who are to blame. Arrest them all…including Sen. Susan Collins who was one of his biggest jackboot lickers for years.
Does this mean that John will “suspend his camapign” once again?
After all, the bill didn’t pass. And he was supposed to suspend until a bill was passed…for the good of the country!
Please, John, do it! Set politics aside and suspend your campaign!
MvCain just keeps showing what a boob he really is just like his republican brothers yet the people seem to love what they get from them. No body seems to ask if they could think of spending 700 billion dollars to bail out wall street. Why couldn’t they come up with 1400 billion dollars and put equal money into the country. 700 billion dollars would fix all our infrastructure and create real jobs as well as start programs to get us off foreign oil making more jobs and with whats left over we could fix social security get health care for all and really do something for the country. All that money flowing through the system would do more to boost the economy than we can imagine. It would make more taxes to start paying for all this and people could afford to pay for things if they were earning money. It’s funny McCain and his budds as well as all of Washington in both parties won’t spend money to make our economy really work but will spend in every way to drive it down. If you want to know whats wrong read “Why we have so many American Problems and what we can do about them” available at authorhouse.com.
That’s funny.
What an opera star, that Johnny Mac. Besides the ideology, whatever ideology he is currently espousing, can anyone imagine the amount of attention this guy will need from the American populace for four years? Don’t blame me, me, me, if I give myself credit prematurely. Can you imagine: Bush on steroids.
