I hate to cull pearls of wisdom from wingnuttia, but Rick Moran over at RightWingNutHouse gave the rationale (although he was talking about a different aspect of the debate):

“Never argue with the voter — even when they’re dead wrong.”

Middle of the debate was not the time to try and re-examine the common (though mistaken) beliefs of citizens. The majority of Americans think Russia got bored one day and decided to go blazing in. Wrong? Yes. Telling the people who are going to vote for you that they’re idiots? Not a good play.

Take a drink:

1. every time Sarah Palin responds with a sentence fragment;
2. whenever she mentions the words “reform” and/or “maverick”;
3. each time she says “Alaska”;
or
4. if, after a response, you successfully mimicked each of Governor Palin’s gestures.
