where is the “Save Wasila” campaign? They took one for the party. I’m assuming protective coloring when they voted her Mayor. She left them seriously in debt. The Queen of pork can’t manage even with a healthy shot of taxpayer slush. The people of Wasila gave it up to expose the mine. Sorry about Alaska who will suck up the rest of her Governorship when she and he loose.

Because it wasn’t clever, unless you think overt racism is clever. Because it wasn’t honest, unless you think FRC distancing themselves from people who held high positions in their organization was honest. And because everyone involved was a McCain supporter, and they’re getting support from someone with ties inside the McCain campaign.

OMG! 2100 people from 44 states! That is such a huge turnout. Almost as good as Palin’s turnout in Alaska of 1500 people.
I know we have to call them on the carpet for this stuff but in some way I can’t help but think we are spreading the word for them well beyond the 2100 attendees could. It is a double edged sword but I have said it before - years ago all the ranters like Limbaugh and Coulter would have been on a soapbox on the corner and you would have covered your children’s ears and crossed the street to get away from the crazy people. When and how the crazy people got prominent spots on TV and credibility I can’t pinpoint but we have to stop giving these liars audience. It has nothing to do with free speech. They are still free to stand on a soapbox on the corner and spout whatever they like. The media needs to ignore or denounce them for the crackpots they are.
This is NOT a game as much as the corporate media and the hardball politicians would like to think. This is the very future of this country. If they don’t care about their own future or the future of their children and grandchildren then they vast majority of this country needs to wake up and realize they certainly don’t care about your future.

Yes, there is some racism in this. But why don’t you just admit that Whitlock and DeMoss came up with a clever parody, and let it go at that?

Yesterday in a local report on KTRK-TV in Houston, TX, reporter Wayne Dolcefino revealed that media have been blocked from covering Hurricane Ike’s devastation. In a press conference, Dolcefino pressed Gov. Rick Perry on why media aren’t even allowed to fly over parts of Galveston Island, noting that media access was far better in Mississippi and Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. Perry tried to brush off Dolcefino’s concerns, but eventually passed blame to federal officials:

DOLCEFINO: That is unprecedented and quite honestly not appropriate because it’s our job to inform people. Why can’t we go to Bolivar and West End?

PERRY: I think when the local officials decide it was appropriate, whether it’s the media or first responders or what have you. The fact of the matter, that is actually a local decision, Wayne, that is made by the local county judge and by the mayor of those —

DOLCEFINO: They don’t control that area.

PERRY: Last time, the state of Texas doesn’t even.

DOLCEFINO: So it’s the federal government?

PERRY: I don’t know.
