3. McCain actually does approve the ad – and is without honor.

Registered Democrats are receiving absentee ballots from the McCain campaign and are told to send them to the return address enclosed. In Macomb County, MI the Republicans said they will be challenging all people who try and vote that have had foreclosure proceedings. Over 2,000 fall into this category in Macomb county. The Republican Party is blatantly trying to subvert democracy. When will these traitors be held accountable?

I was born in New York City, and — like so many who grew up in that area — I knew people working in the World Trade Center on 9/11. I remember the panic as I called everyone I knew, sent frantic e-mails, and prayed that my friends and their families were okay.
Of course, we all know that terrorists were responsible for the tragedies on 9/11. But the devastating truth is that some lives were lost needlessly that day — lives that could have been saved if the towers had had more stairwells or fireproofing. And those are just two important safety upgrades now being considered by the International Code Council, which makes decisions about building safety code regulations.
The Bush Administration is blocking these upgrades on behalf of its cronies. But the one review board can stop the sellout.
The ICC is set to vote on these recommendations next Thursday, September 18th. The recommendations were drawn from a comprehensive post-9/11 report by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The purpose of the report was to improve our safety code to protect buildings and save lives in case of another attack. Sounds like a no-brainer, right?
Not for the Bush administration. On September 8th, the New York Times reported that the General Services Administration — a federal agency that manages property for the government — is opposing the new safety standards. That’s right: an agency of the Bush administration is using your tax dollars to fight against the very standards that could have saved lives on 9/11. Why? To help line the pockets of super-rich landlords and appease the real estate lobby.
This far exceeds unreasonable. The group of building owners is even refusing to put glow-in-the-dark markings in stairwells to help people evacuate safely. Why save lives when you can cut corners instead?
Fortunately, there are eighteen people who can stand up and force these landlords to do the right thing.
They’re the Board of Directors of the International Code Council, or ICC. It’s the ICC’s job to approve or reject the new safety standards, and they’re meeting next Thursday, September 18th, to vote.

In my opinion, there needs to be a whole lot of women politicians to come up behind her and hit her with a lot of stuff. They need to play the mean girls, now. Time to tell McPalin that, on the national stage, she is not allowed to hit the fainting couch every time someone says something mean to her, she is not allowed to get the vapors when someone calls her a name, she has to play by the same rules as the guys, this is not an all-girl team, and if she can’t complete without whining, she should get out of the game. She cannot take jabs at the boys and expect deference in return. Period! They should have done this already, and if the girls don’t do it, the guys and the press should! Now!

The Dems may think it’s kool to keep to the rhetorical device that John McSame is an honourable man, so are they all, all honourable men. But let’s face it. How many kids in 9th grade English, reading Julius Caesar, understood that line as sarcasm, as understatement necessary to avoid sharing Caesar’s fate, as ridicule of those who claimed that their political ambitions were more worthy and pure than Caesar’s?

If you’re talking about the one he did at MTP with Brokaw, I agree with you. Thought he did a great job with getting the point across that as long as we’re all talking about extraneous stuff, she doesn’t have to and hasn’t expressed anything about her policies, the direction she would want to take the country, or anything substantial. And I’m personally very tired of watching her dodge interviews with tough questions. If she can’t give an impromptu interview without putting her foot in her mouth, that’s something the country needs to know too, so we’re gonna haveta keep prodding them and goading them with remarks about the Diva needing deference and her not being ready for prime time, or she’d be out there already.

Yes, they are inspiring America with their bi-partisanship this campaign season.

Surely the 22% of the populace that still do not despise Bush will appreciate how they are being catered to by the Senior Senator of Change and the Junior Senator of Change, and they are just the types that need to be won over.
