In an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” earlier this month, Mr. Lieberman indicated that he would attend the Republican Convention, but that he was not going there to “spend my time attacking Barack Obama.”
From Joe’s speech tonight:
When others wanted to retreat in defeat from the field of battle, when Barack Obama was voting to cut off funding for our troops on the ground, John McCain had the courage to stand against the tide of public opinion and support the surge and because of that, today, our troops are at last beginning to come home, not in failure, but in honor!
Joe also wants to know: "What, after all, is a Democrat like me doing at a Republican convention like this?"
Somebody needs to remind him that before John McCain took him on a premature honeymoon then threw him over like a cheap roundheels for Sarah Palin, we kicked his lying ass out of the Democratic Party.

At one point, Lieberman was droning away on NBC, ABC, PBS, C-SPAN . . . my girlfriend asked me to change the channel and, each time, we saw and heard Lieberman and she cried out, “NO!!!!! And she left the room. I think that might be my vision of hell – Joe Lieberman on all stations at the same time. But if that were to occur, I’d probably get alot more work done.
If I distort my senses enough with whiskey, I can almost here the tone of Buffalo Bill from “Silence of the Lambs” each time Lieberman speaks. I half expect him to say “John McCain is a leader . . . and he puts the lotion in the basket.”

In 2006 you stumped against the progressive candidate in Connecticut, Ned Lamont, in support of the Republican-wannabe Joe Lieberman. Joe has questionable votes on a woman’s rights to choose and you showed disappointing Senatorial arrogance when questioned upon your support.

Tonight Joe Lieberman stood in sea of white folk with the Republicans. Can you find a colored face amongst them? He stood with the Iraq War and with a slate not only against a woman’s right to choose, but to make it illegal. He said that the Democrats had stood with powerful Democratic interest groups. His reference was the powerful Democratic groups during the BUSH administration.
To those of us who care, this is no surprise. Joe is clearly a piece of “work.” We wrote to you. We beseeched you. We tried to convince other Democrats as well. Did you respond? Did you respect our concerns?
