As if the National Republican Senatorial Committee Needed any more bad news. There is, um, more bad news. A new poll out of Texas shows the Senate race in a dead heat, with Republican incumbent John Cornyn with 38%, Democratic challenger Rick Noriega at 36% and 24% undecided.
Only 23% of Texans think the country is headed on the right track.
With recent news that the Obama Campaign is going to put some resources into Texas, and Noriega’s Hispanic background and status as a military man (recently he had to report to duty while such vets as Wes Clark and Jim Webb "filled his boots") this race is going to be another in a long list of states (Alaska, North Carolina, Kentucky) where the GOP thought they’d have it easy, but a strong Democratic recruit, weak incumbent and toxic environment for the GOP have conspired to make it a race.

About FDL Action
So…when Noriega (and perhaps others) take seats in Texas, they can use the precedent set by the GOP and RE-configure the political districts AGAIN even though it is not a census year.
Any word on what per cent of Texans want to disown George Bush?
Yay for Noriega…come on Texas hook him.
So let’s look at Cornyn’s ad, shall we?
It’s hilarious, is it not? What a dipshit.
“John opened up government, let us all take a look. Gave support to our soldiers, rooted out crooks.”

Yeah if by “take a look” you mean when those Republicans ran the legislative branch and overlooked the executive branch. And if by “gave support” you mean didn’t properly equip our soldiers or take care of our veterans. And if by “rooted out” you mean give cost plus contracts to American corporations committing fraud and abuse in Iraq, then why yes, BIG JOHN can shovel manure with the best of ‘em.

This is good news for liberals.
Why stop with Sen. Cornhole? Let’s get rid of Sen. Kay Bailey Terrormonger and Gov. Goodhair too!
