This is a quote from an Iraqi vet about both John Mccain and John Cornyn’s (R-TX) opposition to the updated and bipartisan GI Bill sponsored by Jim Webb (D-VA) and Chuck Hagel (R-NE). John McCain’s "alternative" would only provide "a fraction" of the benefits. His argument is essentially that it would hurt military retention, because it is too generous.
Yes, you wouldn’t want to be too genererous to veterans now would you. As we pointed out yesterday, it comports very well with McCain’s negligence towards veterans’ issues in general.
